Cynthia
Zeoli – Owner and Director
Cynthia has lived in Fairfield County, Connecticut throughout
her life. She was born in Stamford, and was raised in Fairfield.
She currently lives in Westport with her husband Michael, whose
family has lived in Westport for six generations.
Cynthia has always aspired to have her own preschool for three,
four and five year old children. As her own children approached
school age she began pursuing that ambition by taking a position
in the Westport Public Schools, working with younger elementary
school children. Her experience included working with children
who have autism.
After five years Cynthia left the public school system, taking
with her the invaluable knowledge of both typical and atypical
child development, as well as many strategies to enrich a young
child’s education that are employed every day as part of
her preschool program.
In 1993, with a very distinct philosophy, Cynthia opened Three
Four Open the Door, LLC., a preschool program for three, four
and five year old children. Over the course of the past twelve
years Three Four Open the Door, LLC. has earned a reputation as
a highly regarded preschool with a long list of families waiting
to be enrolled.
Cynthia’s intimacy and knowledge of each child enrolled
in Three, Four Open the Door, and her innate ability to tailor
her preschool program to each child’s individual needs sets
Three Four Open the Door apart from other preschools.
Over the course of the past five years the public school systems
in the adjoining towns have become very familiar with the local
preschools and their different philosophies. Realizing that children
from Three, Four Open the Door come to kindergarten very well
prepared, Cynthia has been asked to lecture at a number of elementary
schools in the area regarding her methodology and it’s practical
application.
She
has also been asked to consult with other area preschools concerning
her methodology. Cynthia has recently received an award of excellence
for her inclusionary efforts.
Sensory
integration, social/play skills, fine and gross motor, and cognitive
developments are part of the everyday experience at Three, Four
Open the Door. Academics are taught using a combination of our
own practical philosophy, and an exceptionally creative program
designed to stimulate each child’s curiosity and creativity,
and to enhance their self-esteem. Our children learn the importance
of their role in creating a cooperative and intimate school community.
